Monaco is an independent and sovereign state, located is the south-east of France, close to Italy. The boundaries are exclusively with France. Monaco’s surface is approx. 195 hectares (around 400 acres), amongst which 40 were gained on the sea during the last 20 years. The Principality stretches for 4.100 meters along the Mediterranean sea.
Monaco’s population is around 30.000 inhabitants, including 5.000 nationals. The foreign residents are of 101 different nationalities.
Mild during the winter, hot without being excessive during the summer. The yearly average temperature is of about 16°C. The Principality has an exceptional number of sunny days.
